Audiologists are
health-care professionals who evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage hearing
loss, tinnitus, and balance disorders in newborn, children, and adults. Audiology is a
well-respected and highly recognized profession. These science-based
professionals work with speech and hearing problems such as: Hearing loss,
swallowing problems, stroke, stuttering, brain injuries, Huntington’s disease,
and others. Their work settings include: Schools, hospitals, nursing homes and
elder-care facilities, in research and private practice.
